How Travel Advisors Get Paid
Commission-based by design.
This is not a traditional salaried employee position with Velsain.
Travel advisors primarily earn income through commissions paid by travel suppliers.
When an eligible hotel, resort, cruise line, tour operator, package provider, or other travel supplier is booked, that supplier may pay a commission on the reservation. The commission is paid through the host-agency structure, and the advisor receives their applicable portion according to their commission arrangement.
Commission is generally paid after the traveler has completed the trip and the supplier has issued payment, although timing varies by supplier and type of booking.
